i went to install an uprated headlight loom to my jetta which i bought from.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300636109426?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
and when i turned on my sidelights, my dipped beam came on, and flick the switch to dipped beam and it works as it should, but i cant see how the dipped beam is on when it should be my sidelights.
all of my wiring is standard and its a type 19 '86
anyone has this sort of problem?
-
Have you asked the seller??
-
yeah, hes not sure lol. just thought id ask on here, ask he seems to think that jetta wiring is different to golfs? so im going to try it on a mates golf tomorrow.

dim dip resistor needs unplugging like they do with all looms
its a grey tube like a tube of polos size , yellow wires and mouted down near the rad somewhere , unplug it and its all good

I did think that but wasn't sure that 1986 CE1 looms had the Dim Dip module fitted...

oh well u do now..

that weird thing on the chassis leg? and what, like literally unplug the wires off that?
-
Yeah it's riveted onto the leg on the o/s, just unplug it and tuck the wiring away.
-
yeah simply unplug it and thats it...tie the loose wires up if you wish
it was an idea that when driving around on sides the dip beam would partly light up so the car could be seen more , never caught on
