As per title what's the best band you have heard / seen live. Kings of Leon and Muse were Amazing IMO
-
Only seen the Manic Street Preachers and Stereophonics; both were superb.
Manics are much better live than in the studio :undecided:
The band that played at my university graduation party were also excellent; able to actually play instruments and sing! Covered a variety of tracks across the generations

Green Day

I've to too many gigs this year alone to try and choose a favourite live act that I've seen.
For this year, I'd say it's Miles Kane, I saw him 3 times (once from the side of a stage at a festival I was working at).
He never fails to disappoint.

went to see The Eagles in Manchester on the 'assisted living tour' and they were amazing
Status Quo were still rocking along with The Pogues ... one ugly git
Lionel Richie does a great show as does Hayley Westenra and Katherin Jenkins mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
-
Less than Jake were my favourite live. Although it was just an awesome weekend so my memory might be slightly skewed...
Alkaline trio were really tight as a band, the drummer never missed a beat either.
And for a show it would have to be reel big fish and goldfinger who played one after the other and then did a few songs together as it was the last night of their tour, was great!

Green Day
Where did you see them bud
Brixton Academy London.

Remember the big weekend coming to Maidstone, was madness. Although I didn't go.
-
REM and Eminem. Saw them both at MK Bowl.
-
Led Zeppelin in the distant past, Kasabian a few weeks ago, over the years I have literally seen many hundreds of bands/artists, but best ever was Robert Plant, and a few session musicians, playing at "The Charlotte" in Leicester to about 60+ people at a secret gig, that night, I was in the very best place on this Earth...

-
The foo fighters in the millenium stadium with over an hour of James brown before, 75,000 people indoors groovin with JB, best atmosphere ever.
-
The Prodigy @ Knebworth.
Oasis was then a bit of an anticlimax.

was lucky enough to win tickets to live8 and saw Robbie Williams who until then I hated but have to admit fantastic live. Best band live was Pink Floyd back together again and probably never again. worst was Madonna a childhood fav and was a bit of a disapointment.
-
Less Than Jake were the first live band I saw, back when I was 13! Very good too.
I'd say the best bands I've seen are Kasabian (in a very small venue), Arcade Fire and The Mars Volta.

Saw them in 1994 at the Manchester Academy while I was at Uni. Absolutely brilliant!! Concert had to be stopped at one point coz some dick let off some tear gas. Cue thousands of people trying to get out of fire exits! Bouncers got the bloke and did him some damage!
Concert so brilliant and loud. I had tinnitus for nearly 2 weeks after!

Ocean colour scene & the charlatans. Really enjoyed seeing these live.
-
The foo fighters in the millenium stadium with over an hour of James brown before, 75,000 people indoors groovin with JB, best atmosphere ever.
How pissed were you? Because it was the Red Hot Chilli Peppers that JB was backing.
Can't say that JB was much good, but only because it sounded repetative, each song sounded the same. But he didn't half move round for an old fella R.I.P.
One of the best live bands I've seen is Velvet Revolver, as I never heard any of their material beforehand and was really surprised at how good they were. Downloaded their LP the day after, but wasn't fussed on it. :undecided:
Andy McKee is brilliant live.
-
I gotta agree with "Tweed" and "The mighty elvis", The Prodigy are quality live
-
I saw Oasis at their last Manchester gig @ Heaton(sp) park, supported by Kasabian. EPIC day.
Im a big fan of some lesser known bands, my favourite gigs have been in sh!tty little clubs with about 100 other people in
