Title: Passenger door not unlocking

HI all,
 
 
 
My passenger side door on Mk4 golf (03) is not unlocking.
 
 
 
I've had a listen and on the other doors you can hear the central locking unlocking door, but not on this door.
 
I managed to pry part of the door card off, as the door is shut and locked you can't remove the whole thing. I've had a look at the cable for opening door from inside and it's fine, and trying to open from the outside you can see this mechanism also works.
 
 
 
I've looked at other threads - The electric window still works as do all others and all lights etc.
 
Only thing I can imagine is a busted solenoid thing.
 
I have disconnected the battery for 30 mins also but nothing happened.
 
Any ideas anyone?

Yeah very common mk4 golf problem unfortunately. You need to change the door locking mechanism. Ive done both my front doors where they failed to lock/unlock. I bought second hand off ebay for about 30 quid each and it`ll take you an hour or so to change one first time. Ive got it down to about 20 miutes now  :tongue:

Awesome thanks for that.  How would I go about doing that considering the door is locked shut?  Rather not take it to a stealer!
