Title: Under Bonnet Show Offs.....

 right to all those who fall into the catagorey above, with all your shiney twinkley betis and fancey rubbery bits etc, hows about a nice clear perspex bonnet to show off what your running when your at shows/racing etc,

As soon as i get my hands on a new mk2 16v project ill be knocking up a prototype, (which will be a hell of a lot lighter than the standard mk2 bonnet!), these fir fit to your original hinges, but you will need some 'rally' style bonnet clips fitting to the front to hold it down if you intend to race/use on road etc, unless i can make some kind of knuckle to fit into the existing bonnet stay.

should have one made in a week or 2 once ive got and started to strip/lighten the car, so watch this space, will also be able to make for mk1's , but i might need to borrow some ones bonnets for a size up, unless i can get my hands on the correct heat bending stuff mk3/4/5's are a no go at the mo but you never know....

oh yeah prices, £45 ish (yet to be decided) plus p+p

^^ serious? are you talking hotrod style here? i think it could be funny at a show to pop one on, but i don't think i'd drive around with one on. be interested to see how it comes out.

maybs u cud hav a perspex for a show..be fab wen it was sh!te weather like inters..n normal for everyday..woo-hoo..sumthin different!! :smiley:

what is that thing by your washer bottle? i swera mark doesnt have that on his engine :huh:

also how ramjam are 16v engine bays?

dont worry peeps this aint no joke!!, i did have a spare mk2 bonnet lying around until 'fielder' aquirred it!!, so at the moment i have nothing ot go off, but ill have a 16v in a week or too so just hold with me!!.....

Thats the pressure regulator thing for the LPG gas conversion and the pipes coming off it are for the single point injection into the air intake.

I don't have a Mk2 engine bay picture, but I have a picture of my old skool Mk1 cab engine bay (before I took it out) - it will be chromed when it goes back in...!!
