Car just pulled up outside my work and flicked blue strobes in the front bumper on. Nothing unusual you might think in that but it was an 02 plate Seat Leon Cupra.
At first I thought it a little dodgy as there are some nice cars in our car park, they parked up and went across the fields though so I thought I would go and have a nose. Deffo a police car and definately a sleeper, no extra aerials etc just another blue strobe (small though) in the top of the windscreen and a police issue stab vest in the back seat. Oh and a vascar or whatever its called console on the dash.
-
MDT - mobile data terminal.. on the dash
-
Yeah seen one before, seen a few proper sleepers lately. Seen an old metal land rover thing and Sware to god I saw a vaxhaul people carrier once as well lol, never saw it again though so was probably a fake

they also have unmarked 1s of these in glasgow  aswell as a few evo xs
-
What I want to no is what type of police are the ones that suddenly appear flying along in black bmws with lights behind front grill. See them every now and again. With realy important looking police in front and back flying past 2 at a time with lights blazing.
-
i think you will find they are training cars, we have a couple of white insignia's that are running around here in wiltshire. plus if you are not so lucky you may see a silver bmw x5 behind you with his disco lights on.
-
They marked ones stainsy? I know in my area the marked BMW x5s in black are the armed police

few vaux people carrier police cars up here, few ford people carriers too.
-
wiltshire lot cant afford people carriers so they just stick to unmarked bmw's, s4's,
-
Plain clothed plod in it btw. Sneaky sods, it sounded like it had been 'tweaked' too.

I had a subaru thats was an old police interceptor an it had been took back to pro-drive for some extra tweaks it pulled like a train

I got breathalised last week at 7.45 am on the way to picking the missus up from work. Pulled over by a black unmarked 3 series. Apparently I was showing signs of being under the influence! I had woke up about half an hour before, and it was in the sh!tty pug! Didnt say anything about me doing nearly 50 in a 40 zone though! :lipsrsealed:
-
The use anything now days, mk4 golf on m25, Leon Cupra R (mk2) round Dartford, Meriva in bexleyheath (I really don't know why this is an unmarked car), focus's, and Q8 in kent and on the A2 the met's latest weapon is an m5 and they decide to park it on the slip off road on the bend.

What slip road, what bend?
Have seen all the above except the Meriva and the Q8 though.
Seen a proper blacked out 5 series!
Don't see as many on the A20 but have been pulled by two undercover Cupras on it.

Black Cupra is a pain in a$$ especially in Dartford, I see the unmarked meriva fly past me on that dual carriage way between footcray/orpington to bexley I was baffled  They love sitting there with speed guns as well.
The M5 was sitting on the bend as you come out of the local traffic lane on the A2 at bexley (on the gravel hill side) what a retarded place to park up, considering its a single lane to come off and there's a single lane merging onto the A2 where people are picking up speed, so if someone was flying off the roundabout there was no way you could get passed as police where in the way
There's also a Kent police jobs worth down bluewater in a marked car, right twit, every keeps complaining about him even people who drive sesnible that I know from a friend of a friend. He just pulls people at random and gives them hell... I'm guessing his after a promotion.

Ah fair enough. North Cray road the dual cariageway. True with the guns, that's a strictly 40MPH road, they hide like mad. Been pulled about 8 times on that road, not once even speeding.
Ah right I'll have to watch out for that then. Not down there too much but am sometimes!
Once when my mate was giving me a lift from one side of BW to the other, I was hiding in the back of his Berlingo van as it was just carparks, until he goes the wrong way onto the road. Then the police start following us, so my mates bricking it turns out his lights were off. He gives em some bull and lucky they never checked the van. Then they say "follow us" to the bus stop.
So at 5 MPH I rolled out the van when the police car went over one of the roundabouts there.
Funny times.
But yes, Kent Police are arseholes. Met Police just care about drink, drugs and speed and Kent love checking the car over. I suppose that's down to the amount of modified cars round the Medway.
-
OH and there is a 1 series BMW round these ways as well. Shocked me when I saw it, possibly cause I was flying along in a battered Fiat when it lit up blue.
-
Kent police annoy the hell out of me, one of the most incompetent police forces ever, plus they get all the near gear first  All the Medway towns are dumps, but like you said Kent police are so bored they go extremely thorough where as Met have a more laid back approach. Neither catch any real criminals though
I can deal with the met, I remember when the sergeant took my car keys off me  Some off them are a right laugh as I see them at work :lipsrsealed: but some off them are right tools.

Yeah I know. Always having the car checked over. One tried taking my car off the road for tyres and the exhaust! Because I had a welding wire tied round the exhaust to stop it rattling, wasn't holding it up but still just a temporary repair.
Have had FAR too much police attention due to Kent police. Always getting pulled over. But yeah Met only pull me for breath check or speeding etc. :undecided:

If you want to find out just what cars the police are using go to their service/repair centre for unmarked cars in Greenwich, it's next the self storage place and what was platform builders merchants on anchor and hope lane as your looking at the front of the self storage place, go down the left side of it all the way to the end in the left corner is a building with a yard that has an 8 foot security fence around it.
They don't like people knowing what it's for but seeing as I put the fence up it wasn't hard to find out, especially as I would talk to the people working there. they even used to have an old an 80s cavalier. c reg whatever year that is.
They used to have police in and out all day long in their unmarked cars, wasn't very good when I think that I was working with 2 other people, 1 always had drugs on him and the other was a dealer that had just got out from prison after selling to an undercover copper.
-
Cambs police have a couple of un-marked Skoda Superbs they use. Boring colours as well, so certainly catch people out.
I'd heard that they often use cars they seize from criminals as un-marked, which would explain some of the more interesting choices being used :)
-
Police just seem to be getting sneakier by the day :undecided:

They're still the least sneaky police I've yet to see. Bright painted speed cameras, big camera vans with clear markings on them, etc. In Spain police hide cameras in bins, park up undercover cars with gun up on dash and policeman leaning over to passenger side to avoid being seen, etc.

I know the place, round the corner from makro's and asda's, they started using some weird buildings nowadays as well. Thamesmead for instance, used to have a small compound and mobile huts to form a police station not far from town center, now they are based in a warehouse which is the new station.

can also be found at cruises to blend in, as well as well known street racing locations

Well yeah, but they're giveaways aren't they?
-
Not your typical unmarked copper but this was spotted pulling someone over near me.

I must be honest I don't think i'd be too inclined to stop for an 02 plate Leon or a Nissan Navara.

You mean the police go to Thamesmead? thought they had left that place and were too afraid to go back like Abbywood judging by the amount of crime round there.
I learned to drive around there and saw someone stabbed my driving instructor called the police and an ambulance the ambulance came within minutes but we waited nearly 2 hours for the police as we knew what house the bloke had gone into but they never showed up.
-
Question is, anyone even had Police lights on their own car?

Thamesmeads not that bad compared to the rest of the hell hole surrounding it such as croydon, lewisham etc... They usually bottle out of going to any pikey sites such as the one in abbeywood
Don't get me started on the police round there, the various police stations round there have different reputations, Bexleyheath have a renown reputation in custody as being useless, so traffic police are very unlikely to arrest in that area, they rather take you magistrates or issue a ticket. Plumstead police station are humorously useless, never turning up, always doing things wrong... All fun and games, they also have a fake owl on top of the station to deter pigeons. I remember when a county court bailiff turned up to a house with a locksmith, opened it up and it was a marijuana plantation in the whole house, he rang police to notify them, they said "can you wait there a few hours till we can get someone round", his response was, its not my problem I'm going, either you turn up or I'm leaving
Question is, anyone even had Police lights on their own car?
I remember my misses mums fiesta had a fault where the front lights kept dimming the same way as a police car. I'm sure getting through traffic would be quicker with them on.

Today I saw an unmarked volvo v70 t5 in black on the dual carriageway bit of the A47 between Peterborough and Thorney, pulled an Audi r8 over for speeding, I was doing 85 and was left for dead by it, so it was going a bit quick. the cheeky fecking copper had a builders hard hat a pair of work boots and the sun on the parcel shelf.

SYP have got a Leon Cupra and a Focus RS in Sheffield at the moment. The Focus has nasty side repeater style strobes nailed to the front bumper.
