Hello all! Have just stumbled upon this site, and can't believe after 5 years of having my Golf GTi 16v i have not found this site sooner...oh well. I am very reluctantly trying to sell at the mo, please see the "for sale" section for details. Here are a few pics of her at the moment.ÂÂÂ
If i don't get a decent offer in the next couple of weeks, i shall just have to give up and carry on modifying!! Hoping to have a flush tailgate, some angel eye headlights, and maybe throw in a VR6 lump....

If anyone knows a decent bodyshop down south (kent region) could you let me know! Cheers!

Looks nice mate, why are you selling it?
-
Not to my taste but i can appreciate the effort. Good job. Have you advertised in fast car or max poo ? Sure you'd get a sale quicker if you did.
-
like the wheels mate , the rest is a bit fast and furious for me......
but each to there own!! it would be a boring old world if we all liked the same!!

Do you mind if i ask where you got your leather interior from and how much you paid for it ? Ta.
-
Yeah, its not to a lot of peoples taste, and i get ribbed constantly at work for driving a "pimped up snow plow" as they like to call it due to the low front bumper and splitter! Thats why i am selling really, i'm 28 this year so should really get summin a little more sensible and practical. Volvo estate here i come!! I do like summin different tho, so love it, or hate it, it does get noticed!! Put it in Fastcar yesterday, and have already got an offer, so she might go soon.
As for the VR6 leather interior mate, i spent weeks phoning around VW breakers, finally found one at VW direct in Wrotham, Kent. Cost me about £500 if i remember rightly.....

I would ask about if anyone wants to swap their cloth for those leathers for a nice price and then sell the car

Bluemk2: Thats not a bad idea actually mate! If i don't manage to sell my car, or don't get the price i would like then i could just sell it off in bits!
Sugar79: Well its the first exit on the M26 (coming from Kent), at that first roundabout you get to there is a garage, has some old classic american cars on the forecourt, and the VW garage was just behind it. They really know what they are doing there, and have always done an excellent job with my motor. Haven't been there in awhile, so dunno if they have moved....
Veedub8v: Mmmmm T5. I can see me clocking up the points rapid style with one of those....i might as well just hand over my license when i pick up the keys!
Dinx: Would love to stay Veedub....have always wanted a Corrado, so who knows! And if i win the lottery, bring on that R32! Although if i do change, will you ban me from the forum....
I have just got mailed from the guy wanting to buy my car!! Very dodgy. He doesn't even live in this country! I think he lives in Azabhijhan or somewhere judging by his English, but says he will send off his cheque and then get someone to come pick it up to get shipped there?!?!? Isn't coming to look at it or anything....think someones winding me up....

Think you'd get a bit more all together if you swapped the trim over and sold it seperate. (I need leather seats!) If you get a R32 you just need to go to the Golf mk5 section on forum main page. We would all love one of those though!
Play along with that foreign guy if you want for a bit of a laugh. Its usual for these spam emails to come along as soon as you advertise a car and has been going on for years. He will send the cheque, it looks like it has cleared through bank after 2 - 3 days, but then will suddenly bounce after 7 days (something like that anyway) Ask him a few questions, look interested, etc. If you do wind him up, post it on here.

Usual scam mate. Do as suggested and waste as much of his time as you can. Tell him the car has detractable wings which when launched can fly! Or that a friend got altitude sickness and threw up in the back which you forgot to clean up. Or that tyres are made of space age material which allows you to drive on water so his courier could drive it back across the sea if he liked. I could go on and on......
