Hi all i am saving up to do a gt28 conversion for my AGU, i just want to know the additional parts i will need. I have done a little research there is lots of info out there but im getting a little confused as there is to many injectors etc etc
Thought i would come on here as im gueesing there are many of you done a big turbo convereion before, would be brill if part numbers or what car the parts are fromare progided where possible.
Heres what i think i know/need
Heres the kit i want, ive talked with the seller and he says its 100% gen garret as some say the are not gen on ebay

What injectors do you recomend, seen these http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200690773784&category=61258&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200690773784&category=61258&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619)
4bar fuel pressure reg, dependant on what injectors?
What maf will i need? mk3 vr6 ?
I know i will need to make/source some pipes etc my self, i already have fmi
-
Those injectors should be fine but your better off speaking to who ever is going to map it for you becasuse on a agu the injectors have to scale properly with the size of the maf. So different tuners will prefer certian sized injectors because they find it easier to map using them some using 4bar fpr and some using the standard.
Will also need a 255lph fuel pump and at least a 2.5" full exhaust but prob better off with a 3". Forged conrods if you go over 300bhp
-
Hi thanks for your reply, i have the exhaust and 3" downpipe, i will be using nick at r-tech i will speak to him, thanks for the advise
-
AGU stock injectors will max out around 236bhp, so you will need to uprate.
Pump will need upgrading to 225 or 255 spec
4FBR isn't a must, it will only allow you to squeeze out some more fuel from your injectors
3" MAF would be needed due to higher demand of air flow
-
3" maf from what car?
-
make your own

T3 turbo, R-tech go it going at 300bhp with 1bar of boost on stock internals on a seat 1.8T with actuator on board.

Have a think
-
Surely better off with the gt28rs if you can afford it, dont have the lag like from the t3 and make just as good power.

These wre made by a company called cadburys or nestle, they are only oil cooled/fed so no water, have to make a down pipe etc way to much hasstle for it to break tbh
Thanks for you input all the same

yeah roller bearing ftw, could do with finding someone in this country selling the gt28rs as the postage is near 200 quid then in told by my mate i will have to pay import charge!

Was talking to one of usa boys running 28rs, 415cc inj, 4bar reg, 3" maf, d/p, 2.5" exh, with standard smic with vented arch with no internal work making 306bhp.
-
generally with a agu you should be fine at the 300 bhp mark but do you want to spend that much money get it all up and running for it to throw a rod through the block cause it at its limits?

I know ive thought about this, we will see what funds are like when the parts are flowing in, cars garaged any off road atm anyway so i can play in my other toy  so no rush really.

Birchy runs 325bhp with one in a polo, AGU engine no internal work. Agu are good for 340ish he told me.

Sweet, mines had loads of abuse at 225hp running 21psi peak and it seems to love it.ha i rebuilt the engine before i did my conversion, and change oil every month think that has a lot to do with it.
