Does anybody have any recommendations of where I can get a LOW MILAGE second hand engine from? Mk3 2.0 8v

Forums and ebay. Always best to try and find one in the car still running so you can hear it. To be honest, with the current value of MKIII's it might be easier to pick up a complete car with bad rot but a good engine, swap the lump and break the rest of the car.

I got one from madmanmart on here, and can't recommend him enough! Cracking price, great delivery time, and kept me in the loop all the way! Give him a PM, he always seems to be breaking them.  :smiley:

How much will you give me for my 32,000 gti 8v and it has 8 vw stamps in the book  :shocked: some of them services only have 2000 miles between them  :laugh:

depends if your willing to pick it up but there is a scrappy in Peterborough that had a mk3 8v gti just under 75,000 miles.

I was going to have the engine myself but haven't got the money, they wanted £80 for it, car was driven in and scrapped because of rust so engine is good.

If your interested I can get their number if you want to give them a ring and see if they still have it?

get a 16v at least!!

Well my plan is to just make the 8v look nice. Its a cheap and easy project.

I have found one on ideal engines, 36000 miles 6months warranty, £295 delivered but the customer relations is pants, tried ringing them back about 10 times today, no answer :(

Even if I did take my engine out for a bam lump etc, I would keep it unless the price was to good to so no to.  :wink:

I hae one, new clutch fitted, all ancillaries, but 110000minles ish, and not much history, ran the car for 6 months and it was faultless, £75 if you want it plus delivery.

I also have a vr6 in my garage. So to mk3's rotting away  :grin:
