Topgear special thread complaints check list
•Well this didnt live up to expectations at all.
•Disapointing they didnt show us the 'real' india.
•the same old jeremys right, hammonds a kid, an may is a buffoon routine is waring thin with me, who only approves of high brow guardian recommended programming.
•I wanted to see a review of 'real cars' like the new vauxhall agila, or nissan note, but instead i was confronted with 3 iconic british vehicles.
•What a waste of licence payers money
-
I'm looking forward to it
Even though it's not as good as it used to be, it's still so much better than all the other sh!t on TV!

I reckon that the people who will post these sorts of comments shouldn't bother watching it and just let us enjoy it.
Unfortunately I'm working till 8pm, but I got the PVR set to record it.
-
Yeah i'm having to record it too, damn festive period and family events!

Are you in the UK?
If so, you can get it on BBC iPlayer.
If you have the iPlayer app on an iPad/iPhone, you can even watch it live or you can watch live via the BBC2 website.
-
well heres the 1st complain, jeremy clarkson is a c*nt
the amount of poo that comes out of his mouth is madness, i used to love the show and now its just "his right and everyne is wrong".

best crap thats on though
-
If nothing else watching that has served to remind me why I started watching 5th gear again, same rubbish different country
-
Had some funny bits, had some crap bits. Overall normal Top Gear stuff. Had to be watched though.
-
I liked the credits at the end
-
Seriously a huge load of sh!t.
I knew I stopped watching the new series they keep doing for a reason.
-
More proof why I enjoy 5th gear.
-
What's that, you spent ONLY £7k on each of the cars, drove them an EPIC 1300miles across not particularly challenging terrain, then bu99ered 2/3 of them up.
Wow, that's AMAZING.
You might have thought they'd have reduced the budget on the cars and made the challenges more challenging, instead of turning the money up and the challenges down.
best crap thats on though
Nope, the Tommy Cooper thing was much better. Thank f*ck for the PVR.

well said
-
So it wasn't just me that thought it was shiit then?
-
I turned it off half way through, normally I quite like Top Gear but that was just the same old sh1t
-
Top Gear used to be the only show I would look forward to each week, but did not bother with any last series but thought would give this a go, wish I had not.
Surely they and the makers of the show can see it needs to change, how many specials have they done which are all the same, bar the country they are in? Buy 3 cars..turn up and laugh at the car each has brought..drive across the country..scripted unfunny events happen..JC is always right..the end.
Just all to predictable now, shame really as was a very good show
-
To me it was same old top gear! What did people really expect?
and I bet it's viewing figures were still high, the new series will be the same and they won't change the format it if people still watch it (no matter how much people moan about it)
-
I was mildly entertained. Clearly not the best special they have done but there is plenty worse on TV.
-
It is predictable, but you know that before you watch it. I enjoyed, better than bloody strictly come dancing and all the other rubbish the BBC produce!

regarding strictly ....i suppose you are too much of a 'man' to want to get close to sexy girls wearing almost nothing then ? ? ?
-
Not the best of Christmas specials but I did enjoy it
-
I was very disappointed with the episode. I'd say about 95% of it was scripted. There were none of their trade mark races or tests as such. I'd say the worst special they've done so far.
-
There's only so many time you can flog a dying horse.
-
it was better than there last xmas special, but i can watch the old vietnam and america specials over and over again, this one i think just the once will be enough
its all too obviously staged, in the old ones it looked like they were having a laugh and if it was staged (most likely) then they acted well.
i want to see them buy crap cars, get set stupid challenges, and have a laugh at them failing, not a staged "oh look, there car gets smashed up while they look the other way"
-
I really wanted to say your all whining and it was brilliant, but after having watched it I think you have all been far too nice about it, it was without doubt the worst, crappiest, utterly boring, mind numbing, IQ lowering piece of trash that they have ever made!
It was like an hour and a half of having pins shoved under my finger and toe nails, I'd have enjoyed having an angry wasp shoved under my foreskin and needles in my eyes more than watching that.
-
I liked it :)
-
Topgear as a car program was finished a long time ago.
Its now barely a comedy.
Indian roads are terrible. I learnt how to drive in New Delhi at about 13-14? Honestly its soo easy.
I carried 500 rupees with me incase I got stopped. To us that like £10 to them thats like a years wage or something silly

If Anne Widecombe is your idea of sexy then fair enough
-
I just rewatched the first and best special they did, the north pole. It has emotion, humour and not so much buffoonery because it was so extreme. I liked how the pixelated man pushed clarkson in the ice cold water

I have this one and the USA trip on DVD, watch the north pole one a lot, infact, I'm going to watch it now.

Interesting response here:

-
Chris Harris now alleging that the TG response is fake.
Did seem too understanding to be true.
Would be nice if they didn't think they'd done any good though.
-
Just watched the india special and Im neither here or there on it........ But I will say this, Why destroy 3 nice cars? The mini was an immaculate cooper, its like when Jezza destroyed the EVO a while back, OK it belonged to a drug dealer but so what! Its still a fooking EVO. I really think the Top Gear team need to realise that ruining cars isn't what car lovers really want to see :undecided:
-

Fantastic! 5 whole pages before someone came up with the goods. - SCRIPTED REALITY - extremely expensive piss poor telly.. end of.
-
The Mini was definatly a waste looked mint not bothered about the other 2 sheds. Was funny though
-
I am not so bothered about it being scripted as any one who watches Top Gear knows by now it is scripted but for me the problem is the fact it seems to be the very same script for each show.
Buy 3 cars, meet up, slag each others car off, go on a long drive where they will either breakdown or something similar. James May and Hammond will bash each others car, Clarkson is always right and then at the end the cars are destroyed.
Like someone said above, why destroy the Mini Cooper? Was immaculate. Stupid to do that.
Used to really love Top Gear, but find myself enjoying the shows they present separately more interesting these days, like James May's Toys ect
-
They're not allowed to sell the cars after the show afaik (I'm sure they've said it before), so that's most likely the reason for destroying them.
-
Apparently the Cooper was going to be destroyed anyway.
-
boring... time to call it a day on these "specials"
-
they should stop calling them special and start calling them mundane!
-
We've all known for a long time that TG has been going down hill, but up until now the specials have actually been pretty good. Sadly, after watching the Indian trip last night, I feel the BBC should give us our money back.
Utter, utter tripe. Yes, we know the jokes are all scripted, but seriously, this was the worst I have ever seen. We didn't even get to see any parts of India, like you would on a normal special.
Same old cock jokes from very, very wooden actors. Oh look, the signs have ripped in half and now say 'sh!t' and 'muff', hilarious - never saw that one coming.
The whole thing was painfully drawn out. Even an hour would have been too long for the actual content they had.
Lastly, why did they keep referring to places in India by their old names? Mumabi hasn't been Bombay for a long time now?
