Title: Surging engine

Engine is A) surging and B) ticking over too fast ... Any ideas? It's an '88 8 valve. Thanks, in anticipation !

Surging,  Idles too fast.

Could be anything from air leaks to bad throttle switches, dirty Idle valve, dirty throttle body.

Have a read of this dude.  Might help.
