Title: Temp sensor
Post by: xtetx on 24 December 2011, 00:28
Hi guys,

My temp sensor is intermitent and keeps sending my gauge nuts.
Anyways this is going to be replaced, I just wondered if this would link to any starting issues as my car starts fine first time, I go for a 20 min or so drive, get back in the car shortly after and it takes alot of trying to start her up again??

Anybody had this before?

This can cause poor running and MPG etc because the engines ecu thinks the temp is different to what it actually is and it then makes wrong adjustments.

It is Two temp senders in one, It not only displays temp gauge reading on your clocks it also gives the ECU a temp reading for starting ect at different temps. cold, hot, warm.

did you not read that bit mate  if engine is hot an sensor is saying its cold will chuck more fuel in

Got the part today from vw. Was 35 pounds and now seems to run alot better, even feels more responsive.
I guess it's just a matter of keep using it to see if it has fully fixed my problem!
