Hey guys, just got a message on my display saying 'Alternator Workshop' there is a whining noise from under the bonnet that's only just started!!! Not the best time for it to appear when all the shops will be closing for xmas
Will i need a new one or is there a bearing or something i could replace??
Its a 02 mk4 1.9 TDi 130

Thanks for the link mate  Just checked that rich, everything seems ok! I take it if one of them fuses has blown it would be broken like a small fuse?

It's the metal one which blows test the voltage that alternator is producing With a multimeter

i had this warning a couple of months ago and nothing has broke yet checked voltage to alternator and it was fine

Voltage to alternator maybe ok on exciter wire but what about voltage it's producing?
