hello everybody,my car keeps stalling at the lights or when i come to a stop, slightly erratic idle also running rich as hell
-
What engine?
-
AGN 1.8 20v
-
Plugged it in vag com? Any faults? Checked condition of throttle body? Could need strip and clean possibly
-
1st stop would be clean throttle body mine used to drop revs at traffic lights and stall had throttle body cleaned cost me £10 at garage but can be done easily yourself, was fine after that
-
hey just come back from cleaning the throttle body and i found a split oil breather hose, split in 2 peices and patched it up and its running a little more like it, wait till i catch hold of the last owner what a bellend! crap patch job on it

Just had the same issue with mine, got all the hoses replaced, throttle body cleaned - still kept running rich and idling poorly and occasionally cutting out. AA guy found out the Air flow meter was knackered and Lambda sensor needed replaced - running great now. Hope yours is sorted without going through the cost I have.

Yes mate, i think i need to buy a new MAF sensor also, first im going to sort out the exhaust, its blowing a little  does not help lol
-
I was thinking maf as mine was doing that, new maf drove mint.

Had same problem, it went in this order
split 'y' breather to top of rocker cover - replaced
cleaned throttle body
tried a new temp sensor - no different
changed thermostat - best its been
