Just spotted some engine oil has leaked into the spark plug chamber on my AZD
Probs need to do the rocker gasket sealant but have been quoted £60 for 100grams from the stealers
My 1.6 doesnt have an actual cork/rubber gasket but uses a paste instead, would it be ok to use an alternative like Loctite or is there another recomended paste out there
Also are there any special properties of this stuff? isnt it just a heat resistant silicone sealant?

halfords sell firegum or something which is high temp sealant

Just ordered Loctite 5900 Silicone sealant from ebay

The AZD is a 1.6, pretty sure they don't have a gasket. The 1.8t however do have a gasket which was designed to use dry.
