No rcl, 3 door. Called a couple of locksmiths, 2 want £105 + vat, one wants £50. All by the hour. If you can save me £50 just before Xmas it would b much appreciated!

When I was in Green Flag we used to get called out all the time. If you have breakdown cover it's free. If not get a piece of wire about 3 foot long and bend it into a hook one end. Ask someone to gently pull the top of the door outwards slightly to enable you to slide the piece of wire through the rubber door seal and the door and into the car then just pull up the door pin. Can be a pain in the arse without the proper tools but can be done and will cost nowt.   Best of luck

I've pm'd you, just do the same as I said to do on the back door, on the front door, might take a few goes but you should be able to do it.

Thanks for PM bob, and thanks for other replies, not including wherry though! I've bit the bullet and called a guy out. Have keycare cover through insurance up to £50 so can claim it back, and don't want to damage seals this time of year!

And yes I am a pleb wherry! Seeing as there's no immobiliser attached to the key on this one, I will get another one cut soon, and will also invest in a RCL kit to wire in!

Doh!

Is all I have to say on the matter.... Hope you get it sorted without damage or expense.  Don't get how you did it though.

I should imagine when he disconnected the battery, as he pulled the terminals off it was making and breaking the connection so the central locking locked, my car does it, take the battery off and reconnect it and it locks.

No actually, the locking mech sort of springs back and locks again after unlocking sometimes. I didn't notice it this time. Started the car, closed the door when I went to th bay to bolt the battery down, came back and realised what I had done.

All sorted now though, bloke took about 3 minutes to get in. Think I'll be havin ago myself if it happens again after watching him and being told on here. Thanks again guys!
