Title: Anni Shocks
Post by: simonparsons on 21 December 2011, 11:17
Morning all,

I have just got a quote from Skoda (we dont have a local VW) for replacement shocks for my GTi-T

They come in at £55.36 for the front shock absorbers each and the rear £62.18 each at today's prices including vat

Does that sound about right to you all? I specifically asked for the anniversary ones, and didnt know if they would be much difference in price to the standard ones they produce. Also, is there anyway to tell if they are anni ones (products codes, etc) over the standard ones?

Many thanks and have a good Christmas

Simon

Jesus christ man. You could get a set of bilstein shocks of gaybay or maybe some better ones in the classifieds!

I'm sure bilstein shocks would be better than anni shocks right?  :undecided:

i thought someone on here said the anni shocks are the same as the Bilstein B4 ones - which is why a lot of people opt for them over the standard GTi ones...

I cannot remember the outcome on that topic, I was involved as I said I'd go check as I recently put anni shocks onto mine.

Either way if they are the same then you can get 4 new bilstein struts of ebay for under £170 just bought my bro a set for xmas!

should save a few pennies across the board, so will have a look at that tonight - i think thats nigh on £100 lower than Skoda\VW prices, so a big thank you for that.

has anyone used this seller before? had any problems? just so i know before i spend all that money

thanks all for the advice. shocks ordered as advised.

i will order some eibach pro kit springs to go with them after christmas (lets hope there are some good offers) - best price i have seen new is from awesome gti who were about £115 last time i looked.

anything else recommended to change at the same time? i had wondered about some powerflex polyurathane(?) bushes, butt was unsure which ones are best to do. are there any worth doing at the same time as the suspension is being replaced?

then time to save for a trip to r-tech...

thanks all.

bilstein B4's ordered (hopefully arriving today) and will do some price comparisons today for the eibach pro kit springs.

i will check the top mounts and bump stops as recommended above when it all gets installed.

any other recommendations for bits to do at the same time while the suspension is being replaced?

cheers all and have a good christmas break guys.
