Title: mk 4 cabrio parts
Post by: foilist2000 on 11 May 2005, 20:38
maybe I am barking up the wrong tree here but...

The mk4 cabrio is really just a facelifted mk 3 so would the front end of one just bolt onto any mk 3? Has anyone done this?

dunno, but you'd think so. i guess you'd need the wings, bumper, lights, slampanel, bonnet etc so it might be just as easy (and alot cheaper) to get mk4 style headlamps unless you really wanted a mk4 style bumper?

what i was thinking was that it would mean i could fit an r32 front bumper without too much modification........................

the mk4 cabrio bumper is a bit of a hybrid.. standard mk4 parts wont fit onto a mk3/mk4 cab .. so im afraid the R32 bumper wont go on in a hurry either :undecided:

its in my head now to make it happen, so I guess that I am going to have to get the measuring tape out, i have been looking at pictures and i reckon it will go on to mk3 wings with a little shaving and a custom grille.

I will let you know........
