changed to the same bullsh!t layout as autotrader
-
upgrades :undecided:

Noticed that yesterday... When you do a search you can change the layout of search results though... Hopefully unlike Autotrader they might listen to users when asked their opinion on the new layout !!
-
stupid amounts of search preferences
and then it takes all day to load the dam page
-
just noticed this as well i think its sh!t

Yeah it don't need to be that complicated in my opinion !!
-
Why try and fix something that wearnt broke!
-
Is sh1t, takes way too long to search for something.
It was one of my hobbies having a look through the website... not now i dont think
-
upgrades :undecided:
more like a downgrade
-
doesnt even work properly.before the change i could find 20-30 cars and now it comes up with 0
its crap and i dont like it.
-
Haymarket trying to recoup whatever they spunked on it.
Doing anything with the design was always going to be a challenge.
This is the second time they've killed all of the links in the past month, which is suicidal search optimisation-wise.
-
not looked at it yet.. but didnt the update it few weeks back? pretty sure it didnt work very well then :lipsrsealed:
-
i also dont like the fact they charge a tenner to sell your car i was always on there but i hate it now

Once the new format works correctly would the PH techies allow a poll and should it become overwhelmingly in favour of the old style would they swollow their pride and reinstate it? (albeit with a more robust background).
No. As I've said in the past, no matter what the people who've commented on this thread say, we also have to act on what the data tells us about how people are using the site. We can see in granular detail how people use search, how far they get through the site and whether they're contacting sellers (which is ultimately the point after all). There are many thousands of people every day who use the classifieds without going anywhere near the forums, and we have to "listen" to what they're doing by looking at our analytics data. We're doing that just as keenly as we're taking part in these threads.
Whilst we've clearly got work to do to this new version, the weight of all our data and plenty of comments expressed on these threads and generally about the classifieds in the past suggests that the old system had plenty of flaws and didn't do a good enough job of helping people to find cars. We won't go back to it, but we will make modifications to this one.
Looks like its gonna stay that way from what Stuart the Pistonheads developer is saying. The old classifieds was so easy to find what you wanted even with only a few filters !!
Have they always charged to advertise a private sale on there ?
-
Def a downgrade it was fine as it was takes bloody ages to find what you want now
-
it used to be free for a private seller to put there car up for sale
-
Just plain rubbish
That said, old classifieds are back
