Title: temp sender
Post by: bullzeye on 17 December 2011, 22:57
a few months ago i had the fault code 16500 come up on my scanner . i bought a cheap temp sender for £6 from spares shop only for the code to come back on  a few days later, so went to VW and bought a OEM one,  but still the code still keeps reappearing a few days i delete it

i was sayin to my missis, the car sometimes pulls well and sometimes it doesent boost right, and ive noticed it pulls alot better when the temp is under 90 degrees. once it hits 90 or close to it, the car doesent seem to perform aswell as it should

now the temp sender is crossed off the list , isit going to be the thermostat, but ive read online ppl with the same fault have changed both sender and thermo and still have the problem.

( mine sits perfectly on 90 and doesent over heat )

Ok but check the connectors on the plug that goes onto the temp sender = make sure they are not corroded
