Thinking of upgrading front and rear Anti roll bars and suspension looking at using bits by JOM are they any good or would i be better off booting a bit more money and getting better brand also gonna do all bushes and drop links home job or pay someone to do it?
-
JOM have mixed reviews for there budget coil overs, cannot comment on the ARBs they produce.
I think whiteline/eibach ARBs are the ones to go for though!
-
I got eibach anti roll bars and love them.
-
think im gonna get the front and rear kit £280
-
I've got an Eibach front and Whiteline rear. Can't fault them :afro:

Snap! Keep checking ebay, got mine, still looked brand new for £180 delivered!
-
Demon tweeks doing the front and rear £281 best bushes to use whilst im under there may as well do the whole lot
-
How much difference does having them make?
I'm lowered on shocks and springs but how much difference would a rear ARB make, as the mk4s dont have one as standard do they?
Also what is up with the front one? Are after market ones stiffer?
-
I have no idea myself still pretty new to the vw scene i been advised that FK gear is not as reliable a get what you pay for setup
-
I got FK coilovers lol
Rear ARB stiffens up back, makes it alot more 'sure' round corners.
Front ARB are stiffer, because they are thicker :nerd:
-
dave how long have you had the FK's on and have you had any problems?
-
2 years and only problem i've had is scraped sump
-
ya know what i think i might get the fk setup im plannig to put 18s on the car so reading through i should have no problems with wheels catchin or anything better start me christmas list lol
-
i got jom coilies and fk front arb coilies do the job and go super low but the fk arb is not what it is meant to be its got bigger loops to stop drive shaft rubbing but im still catching on it and coilies aint as low as id like them all the way down that is lol hope that helps you mate
-
tt arb from dealers is about same price as the fk one go for that as wolverine as stated be a much better choice the fk one is gd but like i say is does catch when stupidly low even if you go really really low with tt arb it will catch on front arms there is pros and cons with them all but its your choice as to what you want
-
Thankyou guys for advice opinions and help now its up to me to work out the setup will post pics of me black bomber soon
-
I have eibach front ARB and i dont catch
Shortened adjustable driveshafts
-
i was doing a read on the uk-mkivs and seen a post on there of a guy using tt arb and it was rubbing on front arms must of been summat else wrong like mine lol  im only catching when wound almost all the way down :laugh:il get a pic up to show wen the snow goes
-
where i live we have alot of grotty speed bumps so im gonna go for a subtle 30mm drop 18s and just tighten it all up good and proper
-
is that on coilies mate or just springs
-
looking at the fk coilover kit
-
you shud be fine at the end of the day mate they are adjustable so if they to low just wind them up till theres no probs i was down 40mm on just springs and never had a as much as a scrape so at 30mm u will be ok fella

I fitted a rear eibach 25mm recently, it improved things a lot! mid corner wobble has been reduced
I will fit a bigger front one at some point, but need to decide on what size to go for. probably 22/23mm depending on what's available
oh and if anyone does fit an eibach rear save yourself some time and weld up the straps that go over the rear beam before you start the job
-
Adjustable driveshafts?
i think he meant droplinks
