-
there was a website that did this conversion and showed the parts/part numbers. duno where its gone now.
Its possible yes
-
yeah its possible, heres my mates corrado to prove it!!!

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ANY IDEAS OF HOW TO DO IT ? THANKS
-
well this lists the bits you need
http://www.orz-motorsport.com/16VG60%20engine.html
as does this one

RIGHT IM GONNA HAVE A CRACK AT GETTING THIS SORTED, IVE DECIDED TO PUT THE 8V G60 UNIT IN FIRST THEN BUILD UP MY 16V ENGINE TO THE CORRECT SPEC NEEDED PLUS IVE GOT SOME SAVING TO DO!! IM GETTING THE 8V UNIT IN FOR 1300 ALL IN IS THIS A GOOD PRICE N E ONE?? PLUS IF ANYONE HAS A SCIROCCO 16V INLET MANIFOLD I WOULD BE VERY INTERESTED!
-
i've got a 'rocco 16v inlet sitting in my living room, right next to my jmr ported 16v head, neither of which are for sale
Pistons will probably be your biggest material expense (after the bahn brenner kit, if thats the route you're choosing) , Audi RS2 pistons will do the job.. im looking at getting some custom made for mine so that i can keep the oil cooling jets in the chambers though.
If i were you i'd leave your car running the 16v and build up the 16vg60 in a garage then just drop it in when done, easier to make things fit that way when (not if) you change your mind on the parts you're using
-
hi, where are you getting the g60 engine fitted? does the price include the engine? if so that is within my budget!
could you let me know? cheers rob
-
I got the engine and box from Ebay! and all the other bits needed aswell. I am getting the work done through a Garage i supply parts to. I am getting a special rate on the labour. They haven't done one before so once its done and they r happy i will let ppl know where i have got the work done. Andy

i would use a different manifold than the scirocco one if you can because they sound like they are stoopidly rare and they ae right above the engine so the air gets a bit hot. get one that comes out the front like on the 1.8t's
-
The problem is noone like selling incomplete engines so you can't get the items separately. I would doubt that a 1.8 T inlet would work.
Does anyone know for sure?
Also i want to know what company is going to be best to get the following work done to the 16v engine.
Knife edge + balance crank & flywheel
gas flow head
rebore new pistons
new cams for 16v ( what type do ppl reccomend?)
i need to set the 16v engine up to the correct compression also to make this limited g6o engine work"!
Cost to me is irrelevant i just like goin past these ppl in there 20 tho + cars in my 12 year old mk2!!
an element of suprise i suppose!!

I would like some inputt as to which place to get the fitting kit from either bahhn or rz moto sport?? Thinking bahhn is fav in my mind ??
-
dunno but bahn brenner website seems pretty slick never heard bad things about them ask clare tho (g6dub) she will know

you want it looking like that
-
yes, yes you do.......
-
That one long belt
-
i think its actually 2 longish belts on cambelt and one auxilary belt
-
looks nice what inlet manifold is that from? Ive got a scirocco one comin from the usa so mine will be a little different to that! Has anyone an idea of where to get the engine rebuilt?
-
thinks its one off a audi s2 or something similar, with one of the 5 ports hacked off  that inlet manifold will be better than the scirocco one
-
looks like one of a 1.8t but im not sure on that
-
Modified audi rs2 inlet would be the daddy, but it'll cost more than the 'rocco one and the pre-made integration kits dont cater for it .. very expensive way of doing it with custom made brackets and such.
jetta if you're balancing the crank and flywheel get the 'rods done too.. G60 rods are well up to the task, then its just a case of choosing the right pistons. Im told the standard KR cams work well with the 16vG60 engine .. which makes sense .. all the characteristics of the revvy 16v gti but with a great big whack of supercharged torque all the way through.. very smooth
-
So just flowing the head for a start and putting in new pistons to suit the job out with needing to get the correct compression in the engine along with lightening & balancing the crank along with new con rods & big end bearings with a lightened flywheel will suffice do you reckon? Where will be the best place to take the engine to have this work carried out?
Will the 16vflywheel work with a G60 corrado box??
Also im looking for a Decent clutch to put into the car for the mean time with the 8v G60 lump while i build up the 16v engine to the correct specifications!!

why more expencive? if you do all the work yourself i bet it will cost less. those scirocco manifolds are rare, and not in the ebay sense. i suppose if you get the throttle body off the s2 as well then it will just be a case of a hacksaw, cut out one port and get someone to weld it back up for you. i know which one i would use
-
Horses for courses really ... im building mine as simply as possible, i dont want to arse about with custom fabricating every little pipe elbow and hose to reposition the alternator under the 'charger, nevermind the brackets to hold it all there in the first place. (with the BB kit everything is there for you just to bolt together)
I got my 'rocco manifold for £50 delivered, from california.. they're not -that- hard to find, just dont get one from the UK or you pay ebay prices.
i was all ready to sell it too after speaking to JMR at inters and do it his way ... but a) im not that rich .. and b) i want to do as much of it myself as i can.. and the BB kit makes it easy enough for a numpty like me to do it
-
i might make a manifold like that for a standard 16v, see if there is any difference. It must be significantly better not having the engine directly heating the manifold :undecided:
what injectors do most people use on, say 300bhp limiteds?
-
mmm Ive not got that far into looking at injectors yet!! I am getting a rocco inlet as this seems the simplest way with enough documentation on it too!! They are not too much on ebay.com (usa) but carrage will be the bulk of the cost.
