I get the feeling the fitment of the main pipe will be utter sh!te. Take a look at their feedback. Looks good in the pic tho....

It's a gd fit mate i got tha system last year only problem is the tail pipes sit below the valance so i had them cut off and re welded to fit up higher into 4mo valance other than that sounds gd not to loud and bargain for the price but have a search as you can get one with de cat pipe for same money

yeah been lookin at it, but its not the best of materials used, can get a full stainless steel system for just £90 odd more, may have to let my wallet decide tho lol

as said few guys have no problems at all with it but as for lasting i suppose thats another story, read on here about cracked milteks aswell so not always a good thing with the most expensive.

Just been quoted £290 for a custom 2.5" decat stainless steel system (turbo back) from these guys  http://www.rmsexhausts.com/, used them before years ago and seem to do a good job.

also mentioned that the decat downpipe will be interchangeable for mot swaps :)

The above exhaust is full stainless

Maybe not the highest grade, but i bet you most of them arent anyway.

These guys happily got my money.

meant to say, guy at the exhaust place said 2.5" would be better for gas flow any truth in this at all
Title: Re: Me again Exhaust question
Post by: Dave_IOW on 16 December 2011, 19:47
Smaller pipe better for gas flow than larger pipe?
Title: Re: Me again Exhaust question
Post by: jonrandom on 16 December 2011, 20:05
Its good to get the right size exhaust for the size turbo you are using to make sure the back pressure is right as it can add to turbo lag if the exhaust it to big for the turbo.

If your getting a k03s 2.5" will be good.

no reducer needed mate just a strait fit off with the old and on with the new and the one dave iow got would be a very good choice to mate

thinkin o just goin fr that kit from the USA as i pyhisically wana do the job myself anyhow, just a question on the back box, looks big, can this be discrete like my original, or does valance need to be changed, or modded and is there no rubbing issues on your lowered cars.

Post by: Dave_IOW on 16 December 2011, 23:59
You will have to put a 90 degree turned down tailpipe on it, which isnt a problem as the tailpipe actually bolts on to the backbox

is a 90 a good idea giving its an acute bend, and "which isnt a problem as the tailpipe actually bolts on to the backbox", can you elaborate please
Title: Re: Me again Exhaust question
Post by: Dave_IOW on 17 December 2011, 13:21
You have two 90 degree bends in your exhaust already..

Elaboration;

See pic below, fit exhaust as usual from front backwards, when you get to backbox, you will notice this finishes under car and doesn't poke out, you have choice of two tailpipes (long and short / hatchback and estate) which bolt to end of the backbox, which stick out the back.

So you have to either, get someone to put a 90 degree bend into one of your original options, or buy a bend, cut a flange off one of them, and weld together.

I have put an arrow pointing out the bits you need to pay attention too for your viewing pleasure.

fk that, just want an exhaust that will more or less fit str8 on without havin to add sh!t n weld sh!t to anything, dnt want anythin poking out, would rather it be discrete anyhow, aw well, bk to the drawing board lol

Its a nice burble on tick over and if you drive it steady it doesnt roar but does pop and bang now and again  ,it seems quiet at 70mph on the motorway its not anoying.......But boot it and it turns heads so if you want a standard sound on boost get something else.Im not in to loud exhausts but it sounds sooo good on boost
