more to the point is whats the worst it can`t do!

Agree with the above.
You dont know if your getting loads of detonation or running mass boost through your turbo or the ECU requestion mad timing or load figures.
It happens with these companies where they try find maps in the ecu and give the whole range a 30% increase in the figures for the power. Customer sticks map/ecu on car and feels improvement and they happy. Who knows what damage they are doing!

if your going to knob about with your ecu yourself you have to accsept the possoblity you may blow it up while your learning. if you don't mind the possoblity that you may blow it up CRACK ON, if your worried about blowing it up i suggest you don't
simpels really
may intrest you tho at work were thinking of making a large chunk of our map libary freely avalible on the net, but not just the data file thats uploaded all the infomaton that goes with it like all the diffrenes from the std file documented and all the live data recorded from the dyno. likely be everything pre mk6
-
Buy it, send it over and I'll take a look to see if it is +30% etc blah blah blah - might be the best file in the world for all anyone on here knows.....
Can't see it though

You're such an optimist Craig
-
Make your own map, just increase everything by 50% :smug:
this is called the italian method and I wouldn't be surprised if the maps you find on there are done this poor way.
