Mine has died, no longer makes any noise
Any issues with leaving it or do I need to replace it.

If you leave it on dead will you not get the same cel light for improper flow as you get when you remove it?
-
I have no issues with mine removed so I cant see why having a non working one would cause any problems, except as said maybe a fault code. Major pain the the arse trying to remove it with the engine in, I'd just stick a resistor in the circuit and keep the couple hundred grams of junk in my bay

What's the SAI pump?

What's the SAI pump?
Secondary air pump, runs for 30secs when cold, mine was really noisy but is dead now.

Ah ok. Mine plays up now and again but no fault codes yet

I have been thinking of removing mine but it looks a complete ballache so I will leave as is for now.

From what I've read it's not too difficult to remove

First thing he removes in the above video if I remember rightly is the sai combi valve and pump, starts after around a minute of explaining what the videos about and what the bits and pieces are. I found it a very informative video when playing with my engine :)
