Title: Polybushing rear axle.
Post by: Chris. on 14 December 2011, 23:37
Anyone polybushed the rear axle on a mk4?

Are the benefits worth it?

How much different did the car feel afterwards?  Any improvements in handling?  Stiffer back end with less rolling?  etc etc

Chris

Well, for me they were/are!

It's tightened up the rear end nicely, it's not harsh, nor are there any noises. I also fitted a rear arb so it's hard to say exactly how good they are.

I've heard negative things about the one piece powerflex bushes though.

Superpro get the thumbs up from me anyway!

I got them for £80 delivered by the way

Haha, you said it!

I got them from Awesome! I did a price beater thing from another site, they were listed as Fabia ones or something (just googled the superpro part number) sent it to awesome who then beat it.

They were the last ones they had at the time but sure try would have ordered some more by now.

Quite possibly!

I wanted to order from awesome though as I know they dispatch items quickly (arrived next day) and had all my details already so made life easier. Drop them a message and they'll beat it anyway....

Will do.

Getting a price through andrew page through work so see if they cheaper than the £80 i found them for.

I also have the superpro front wishbone bushes and had a 4wheel alignment done when fitted and car felt awesome.  Not even bumpy at all....even with ebay coilovers.

I really dont know where people say the mounts vibrate.
I have:

THS engine mounts
Yellow powerflex dogbone
solid mass flywheel
poly front wishbones

and i get no shuddering or vibrations at all.

I went for the eBay 25mm one with bigger loops its an fk one I believe it is much better than standard mate but I went proper low and it still rubbed driveshaft lol and it is suppose to be designed to stop that

I got cheap polybushes in everything, and cant complain atall.

Front antiroll bar ~£10

Front and rear wishbone ~£25

Rear ARB - Came with it

Rear beam ~£30

THS dogbone ~£Expensive as thought was a good idea at the time, would put a cheap poly in there if done again.

No complaints.
