Was finally able to have a good drive of my new car today and I've noticed something strange. It seems like its steering from the rear on cornerIng. It's very subtle and something I initially thought could be a puncture or collapsed sidewall on a tyre, but the tyres all look great.
Am I just noticing something that all mk6's do, or should I be getting this looked at.
The roads were a bit greasy, but when I tried aggressive steering it felt really planted and stable. It's under normal driving that I get this subtle strange float/rear steering effect. And not always, either.
Any thoughts,, clever people?

thats definitely not right
these should have moderate understeer as a base setting and not turn from the rear. i would get the geometry checked as something doesn't sound right there.

XDS?
-
Yeah possibly
On tight corners when your on he has the car pulls tighter when you would expect it to push wide but it doesn't feel like the back end is coming round to me. More that the front end is digging in.

What size of rims do you have?
I have noticed that with 17s, the rear seems to move more when doing quick direction changes.

Thanks for the replies gents.
Firstly, a 'noun tyre' is actually a 'puncture', but this bloody iPad auto corrected my crap typing badly!
I'm running on the 17's for now.

What is XDS?
It's VW speak for their version of a slippy diff.

Applys the brake to the inside wheel to stop it spinning and helps pull the car in tighter

What is XDS?
XDS (http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/technology/braking-and-stability-systems/xds)
So didn't your TPMS warn of a deflation or don't you have that option?
-
He said he didn't have a puncture in his first post.
The "noun tyre" was a reference to his ipad spell checker.

What he said. :o)
Not noticed it on my outings today. Perhaps once. Sounds like it could be XDS as the roads were greasy yesterday and are bit less-so today.
I will still mention it to the stealers when have the car in for the interior squeaks. Get them to check things over including the tracking.
Cheers all!
