Title: Piper?
Post by: Harooshum on 23 September 2003, 01:58
??? I have never heard of PIPER a backbox, but i saw one for sale for ?60 unused.  It's twin outward, rolled design.

It should fit straight on my standard Mk2 16v, just wondering if anyone knows it's gonna be a crap buy.  I know it wont help performance compared to a full s/s supersprint (if i only had the money!), but is it worth it?

piper backboxes are decent enough exhausts, middle of the road

it'll look a hell of a lot better than the std pipes!

I know the piper camshafts are regarded as top of the pile so I would think the exhausts are of the same quality.

?60 sounds quite a bargain, even ernst boxboxes are ?100 turned from GSF.

I don't think kwik fit will fit it, they normally only fit their own exhausts, I tried them before and was rejected.

I went to a little back street garage and was charged the massively expensive sum of ?16 to fit a whole exhaust system on my old Scirocco storm.

I supplied the exhaust, he supplied the ramp, the tools, clamps and tea and biscuits.

Good garages do exist.
