Title: New car! Not too sure...
Post by: karls3abo on 13 December 2011, 23:20
To Anyone who can help.. Just bought another gti 1.8t after missing the old one! It has had a stage 2 remap, with a ko3s turbo and 007 recirc valve, from what I can see that's all the mods? Its last readout was at 207bhp apparently but surely it should have a front mount? And should it have had anything else? it goes like stink but is 207bph the kind of gain I would expect from the mods done?

Thanks

207 is low for stage 2, who mapped it?

If it's only had a 007p and k03s it'll only be a stage 1, for which 207bhp is about right.

Hmm that's what I was thinking... And not sure who mapped it the guy before him did it. What would I need to add for a stage 2? Obvs fmic but anything else? It's also got a back cat and cold air feed hard piped air filter, forgot to say. Can I put a new down pipe on if so much difference? and still pass mot in 11 months?

Front mount, larger down pipe, decat/sports cat, silicone tip

Ok will get on it I think! And just out of interest, in your sig you say about the bypass and the n75 valves, I have the aum, is it worth doing? Iv noticed alot more dumping on boost when the throttles down only a little bit, compared to my Other 2 golfs.

n249 is definitely worth doing. My car was mapped specifically for a N75J, and runs better with the J valve fitted. Unless yours is mapped for it, it won't make any difference....so for you it'd be a sack of sh!t, for me that's not the case.
