just a quick one my mk2 gti 1991 8v is struggling on idle and sometimes when i approach say a rundabout or traffic lights it sometimes cuts out but then i re start it idles ok then may struggle, i am going t change the maf unit, the blue temp sender, the idle valve and i think that should cure it, was just wondering if anyone else agreed or had any other ideas?
any ideas most welcome

check your air pipes for leaks too

Sounds like the ISV to me buddy, I had the exact same problem

Check and clean ISV and throttle body and air intake!

Check the idle switch too. Do a search on here for how to set it. To check that it is working is dead easy, don't even need the car running.
I suggest you only change one thing at a time otherwise you won't know what fixed it???
