Really need your help guys (as usual lol)
Seen a couple of sets of wheels for sale on ed30 etc
Just wondering what do you think looks better and what would you go for; will put price, width etc
Vintage calibre 17s 8j (£550ono) with tyres , bolts, centre caps)
Staggered porsche twists; 18" 7.5j & 18" 10j, falkens with good tread,4 steel adapters & bolts (£700ono)
Are they good price?
Would 17s be too small? will be getting coilovers so will be lowered lol
Thanks guys :afro:
-
twist's imo
-
Now I've seen them, I prefer the first ones, but the second ones will be easier to keep clean. With this weather and all the dirt, wheels are hard to keep clean, those detailing chaps must be breathing in a brown paper bag trying to not panic
-
if you got the 18" caliber's and then had the spokes painted in red leaving
chrome outer ring,i'd do that...
-
17"s will be ok but you need to lower it, I would also recommend that you budget to get better tyres, wheel / tyre packages tend to come with ditchfinders.
-
Cleaning? Whats that? That's dads job lol
Don't know whether to just spend a lil extra and get a brand new set or calibre in 18s and maybe stagger them???
Maybe do the same wih 17s??
Whats the best "j" to go with?
-
17's would be to small!
id go with twists!
are yoy low? tbh them twists look good on that black one! but if u aint low! it will be hard to pull the look off!
-
Ive got Lesnso RS5's...need spacing especially on the rear but great alloys and they are 17's, as above could do with lowering. I would go for the Vintage calibre imo, they are very nice  .
-
Standard atm. Got winter wheels on so after Xmas she will be gettig slammed and which very wheels I end up with will be getting put on along with anni kit :D
-
twists
-
everytime i look at the pics i just cant split them lol

-
looking at vintages in 18" and can get them with 8j front 9j rear for around £550? How much am i looking at for tyres (dont do alot of mileage so can be cheap ones lol)
-
£100 a corner.
Calibres wont be so bad as you have winter wheels.
Porka ones are nice, but it bugs me two go forward, 2 go backwards..
Wheels are such a marmite thing, its your car, your money and ultimately, your choice..
Which do YOU prefer?
-
twists all day long bro
-
i like both the calibres would win my vote though mate and cheap cheap budget tyres brand new 225 40 18 £65 a corner thats what im using  they seem to last a whole year to
-
Twists
Although you cant go wrong with either
-
I was going to buy a set of Vintage's but then you only have to look through a copy of PVW and nearly every Mk4 has them on so i decided not to. :undecided:
Twists are

Couldnt care if they were the 1st or 1000th. IMHO they look sh!te
-
Have to agree with Steve, Dotz Hanzo's are one of the worst wheels I have ever seen.
-
Thete is a black Mk4 round my way with them dotz wheels and they do look sh!te
-
ye not a fan of the hanzos, think there is a reason no mk4 has them and it isnt the price
wheels are on hold atm for a couple of months
1) because the guy never got back to me
2) just bought a smooth rear bumper, rear anni valance then will be purcahsing a mitek cat back

twists but 7.5 all round, 10's and/or staggered fit is just plain stoopid
