as some of you now i have developed a small main oil seal leak.
what i want to no is can i use one of them oil seal restorers on it? the stuff you put in the oil and it puffs up your seals or something.
are they any good? anybody ever used them?
-
Just replace the seal.
-
They do work provided its only a small leak.

It leaks a bout a teaspoon when parked in garage over might if driven then parked up for over 14 hours. Would you say that's a small leak?
Also whats the best one to get and where from?
Read somewhere online it can make all your seals go hard and fail but not sure if it's true.
-
It makes the seals go soft and bloat out.
You could give it go, if it doesn't work then you'll have to replace the seal, or just put up with it.
I think wynn's do one that i've used before.
-
does anybody no if it will damage any of my other seals thought?

No it will be fine.

No it will be fine.
But all your really doing is putting off the job :undecided: better to bite the bullet and replace the seal.
-
Yeah I will be doing the job once I have the money but that won't be for a wile.
-
It won't do any harm put it that way.

Ok it has now been nearly a week since I put in the wynns oil seal restorer.
I have to say after 1 day the oil puddle in the morning was smaller. After 2 days it was half the size again. After 3 days it was just a drip size spot and the last couple of days there has been no oil at all so a total success so far. Am very surprised how effective it has been. Who no's if it's the same in a week or so's time but so far it's worked a treat.
Also its probably all in my head but the car strangely feels like it runs better and pulls abit harder aswell.
But probly just in my head as not sure how it could effect anything to make that happen.
-
Well I guess I'm either going to get mocked or get a serious answer
Would this work on my valve stem oil seals?
-
Depends how knackered the seals are..
Being where they are, its probably better to replace.
