hello
problem with my golf mk4 gearbox.. code EEF.. when its cold its hard to get it into gear?. once its warm its fine.
i`ve changed the gear oil. not sure if it was correct oil. cheap stuff from halfords.....
does anyone the correct oil for my car? and is there any knowing issues with the 6 speed EFF gearbox
thanx andy

Better to drain it and fill it with the correct / genuine oil, to be easier when warm suggests oil that is too thick.

Has it started doing it since you changed the oil? Or did it prompt the change?
This can be just a symptom of age, as the synchros start to wear you'll require more shift effort.

What condition was the old oil when you drained it? I would pickup the correct VW spec oil from VW parts counter/TPS and change it, worth checking shifter adjustment too?

Any idea whether the clutch has ever been changed?
