I've just got the standard set up but with the uprated loom and they're really improved.
I'd recommend them.
And I'm not on commision (yet)
-
^^^^^^^^^
I'll 2nd that
-
id recommend them to!
i got 80w/100w bulbs to and im thinking about making a loom for the spots now so i can run better bulbs in them to.......
when its dark i will take a photo and post it in this thread......
dizzie you da man!

How bright ! Dizzie, a couple of questions, how much for your prototype and will they fit a mk1 cab ? If so how easy are they to fit as I blow fuses every time I mess about with my electrics !
-
the prototype isn't for sale lol. It was the first loom I made and it's soldered into my car!
I used the original plugs too. The new looms have 30A wire whereas mine only had 17A.
All the looms I sell have brand new plugs and can be removed from the car if you sell it on.
they're installed in mk1's and mk2's in about 5 mins.
complete instuctions are included.

Ah ! My mistake ! I think I really meant the looms that you are selling, how much you selling them ? So are they as simple as unplugging the old ones and plugging in the new ones and you get super duper bright lights or am I missing something ?
-
I'm always worried about making my lights brighter as I wouldn't want to blind other road users.
I hate the new BMW's, I always start saying turn your f*cking full beam off when they come towards me, then I notice it's a new BMW and think, oh that's just the normal lights
-
Perfect opportunity to upgrade and blind them back before they blind you!! I couldnt believe the difference after i installed the loom; even increases the power to my spots (running a 4 lamp grill) so well chuffed!!!

yeah i was worried about that but as long as your lights are properly aligned you wont have a bother my car went thru the mot with 80/100w bulbs which are illegal
-
I've fitte uprated bulbs to my last 3 or 4 cars and had no probs with mot man.
-
yeah they only looked at alignment!
-
Erm, what would happen if i just stuck in the 80/100W filaments with a satndard loom on a MK2 Gti? Would my Gti fry? Aye?
-
yep they would fry
-
Gibby, you connect 2 hoops connectors to the battery. 2 new H4 plugs plug onto your blubs and 2 spade connectors push into your old loom on the battery side. I would use male H4 plugs, but I haven't found anywhere in the UK that sells them :(
Took me about 10 mins in the dark to fit one to a mates car. He was using 60/55w phillips bulbs and I'm sure his is brighter than mine.
If you use 100w bulbs without this loom it will melt the original loom which will be a pain to replace as it's all routed through the car!
There's no law about how bright your lights can be as long as the bulbs are E marked. All the new cars with Xenons are brighter than ours!
For the MOT they only check the alignment not the brightness so you won't blind others unless your lights aren't aimed right or you just want to anyway if they're using their fogs in the day! :D
-
oh, and they're £30 + £4 P&P.
-
I trust you're using relays ans separate fuses ( couldn't see them mentioned in post )
-
of course I'm using relays, but there's no point in 2 fuses. Only 1 relay is ever working at a time, plus to theorectialy blow the 20A in there you'd have to run silly watt bulbs. 100w would never blow it.
