Title: rough idle

just had major service on my 97 cabrio(auto) and now its all over the place ,keeps stalling at lights & after filling up with petrol .idling @ 400 !!!!!!!.apart from that is ok .why is it doing it driving me nuts.Used to have calibra and could clean a valve thing out with carb cleaner when same prob happened.has a golf got one !!!!!!!! ??? ???

You probably mean the cold start valve and if you remember what it looks like on your calibre then it will look the same. Surely if you've just had it serviced and it was alright before, then the garage have fooked it and should sort it out. They might of knocked off a vacuum pipe or something.

Yes garage have said they will look but charge ?40 an hour :o
