Title: engine swap

hi! just got meself a very straight silver mk2 rolling shell (16v 3dr), with dash, carpets, looms( not engine), and thats about it! also have a 1993 2.0 passat (mot fail). how easy is it to drop the passat lump in the mk2? will any chassis mods be nessesary?

as you got both cars i think it will be quite straighforward, duno about chassis mods tho wouldnt have thought so wiring qould be the biggest thing i expect! is it 8v or 16 passat?

What year is the MK2?  If its a late spec (hazard on dash) then its easy, all the engine loom will plug straight into the fusebox.  If its an early one its a bit more involved, but you'll see that the engine loom actually has very few wires that need splicing it, its all pretty much self-contained!
