Title: Noisy neighbours....
Post by: Wazzzer on 10 December 2011, 11:37
I've had three 22 year old girls move in next door (before anyone says it, no they're not lol) and they are making a right fookin racket when they come in at about 2.30am on selected days through the week, normally Weds, Fri and Sat nights

I'm starting to get pissed off with it now as last night it woke my youngest up.

What's the best way to go about getting them to keep it down? I've already knocked on the door and given them a friendly bit of advice and the missus tried the other night but they turned the light off and crawled away as soon as they heard her knock

Lol, was just going to say.....then I read on lol.

Use it as ammo, make as much f**king noise as YOU like, you've spoken to them, so time to piss them off or talk to the landlord if you know who it is.

if there coming in late mate am guessing they wont be up early the next day, this is where the kids getting up early comes into play tell em make as much noise as poss, you and ya wife aswell, music on, banging cupboard doors etc  they wont like being woke up and maybe realise it goes both ways

If they are renting you should write directly to the landlord and complain.

In addition, complain to the council.  If they own the house, this is your only option.

Nuisance.

It's a weird setup, one of the girls parents owns the place, I think they rent off her or at least two of the girls do. I've got her number so I'll give her a call later. I'm a bit dubious about contacting the council as it might have a negative effect if we ever want to sell this place won't it?

I have my decks poised and ready for some serious hard house sessions but I don't want this turning into tit for tat if it can be sorted out amicably

i think daz has a fair point, sometimes you can only fight fire with fire.. as long as you are not upsetting any other neighbours..

My setup is loud enough too, I used it at a pub recently with about 40 people in attendance and it was plenty loud enough

It's not music that wakes us up, it's the chatting, running up and down the stairs at 2am that does it.

Agreed I was young once (I still think I am young at heart but I have different priorities with the kids etc) but I never used to make that sort of noise, I had respect for my neighbours

I remember having this problem once at my old house. It was a young single chap that used to bring his mates back at 2am and put music on.
Talking to these people hardly ever seems to get through unfortunately.
One friday night he did it, i work weekends so i was already very tired, this night i snapped.
I went out and started to boot his front door, funnily enough he would only open his bedroom window upstairs to talk to me, none of his mates would come out.
It was actually the guy that lived on the other side that came out to calm everything down, later i found it he was CID  :lipsrsealed:

I wish I could find my thread about my neighbours from hell a few years ago, oh god what an episode that was!!  tried everything, never worked.  Most nights their music was SO loud the neighbours on the OTHER side of the road could hear it.  Police weren't interested and the council provide too much red tape to make it even worth attempting.

I know it's not an option for you, but in the end we found somewhere else and moved.  Landlord came over and begged us to stay, said he's kick the neighbours out if we'd stay instead.  Was too late by then though.

I say go softly softly first, you never know it might work.  You always have the option to step it up later on if it doesn't work.

all typres nbors can cause problems i being dominated by a 78yr old woman below me she moans if i make slightest noise past 10 or 11pm. but she dominates noise at 7am works both ways sigh. I cant stand having old nbors to stressful when only young. Seams councils areas seam get a random mix of nbors. My nbor is malicous and passive agressive it pretty grim tbh i ignore her ja.

I sure in your situtaion best try the landord or parent seee if they car or not. May not have choice to go e/h as you can soon loose your pateince and isnt a quick service they offer lol, music much easier get sorted living noise impacts is tough to sort need get them nbors ee it from ur point of view and stay calm as can with them.
