what temp should the oil gauge show at when normal temperature? What temperature would be "hot"? cheers
-
Mines normally around 90 - 105
-
mine is usually 86 - 96
if giving it some seen it as high as 120
-
Once warmed up can almost be guaranteed to be 94.
Goes up a bit if i give it some gas.....
-
mine is between 86 highest i have ever seen mine is 102
-
for a 16v 88 - 110.
ive seen it as high as 122 on my old 16v, supposedly if it gets up round the 146 mark this is when you start to panic
-
^ wot he says.
usual temp used to be around 95 however my rebuilt golf is showing an average of 80 which is definitely too low.
highest i've ever seen on a particulary "interesting section of road" before the rebuild was 126. i have seen higher though when the car had a big overheating problem. panic isnt the right word ;-)

yeah pant fill is more accurate!
i think mine is to low gonna put a new thermostat in cos i reckons its stuck open slighlty
