Title: Golf Wolfsburg Edition
Post by: andykram on 07 December 2011, 21:02
I was on the phone today to the local VW dealer trying to get some original bits for my new 16v which has a "Wolfsburg Edition" badge on the back and "Wolfsburg Edition" wing mirror adjusters. When I bought the car I just assumed these were just add ons that a previous owner had stuck on, thus my desire to put original parts back on. However, the geezer at the dealer there was a special edition Mk2 called a Wolfsburg Edition. I can't recall seeing anything about it and, even if there were, surely it must have amounted to more than just a couple of silver add ons like what I describe above.
So what is the truth? And if such a thing existed, how do I know if mine's a "WE" instead of a standard 16v?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but he just got me thinking. I'm pretty convinced mine is just a normal 16v. Doing a search suggests this WE thing is just an urban myth and I'm right to get original part stuck back on it?

I can't even sort a signature out anymore for my bog standard non-WE 16v!!! Mybanner doesn't seem to work for me anymore. So an Avatar is impossible.

Just post a thread in off topic and ask someone to sort it out for you
I would help but I'm not good at that stuff!
And a proper answer to the WE the after market badges are just gimicks for die hard fans nothing wrong with them just became over used and then seen tackie I've still got a WE gear knob from Alu aftermarket it wasn't cheap back then when it was all the rage  :lipsrsealed:
