Title: Newbie with very boring technical central locking question - please help!!
Post by: SWGOLFVR6 on 09 May 2005, 17:37
Been a regular user of Migweb and Passionford but new to Vw ownership so hi all, just got a Golf Vr6, but the c/l isn't working properly. The drivers door lock is stiff and only opens the drivers door, the other locks will not operate at all, even by manually pulling/pressing the door pins, until the car is running, when they can be operated manually. On exiting the car it locks perfectly. what i take to be the c/l pump in the boot has writing on it in the yellow pen you get on secondhand breakers parts, so i assume the previous owner has put a secondhand c/l pump on in an attempt to rectify the problem. Boring I know but please help as it's the only fault on the car!

I know this is a obvious one but ofter missed, have you sprayed the boot lock with WD40 ?

If not try it, my c/l faffed about and it was the boot lock being stiff that tripped it back.
