i had to sell my beloved mk4, so instead i got a 52 A4 1.8t, dont really know much about them, if anyone can point me in the right direction without coming off this site then i will be a happy bunny lol, thanx in advance
-
First job, engine flush, fresh oil and filter, then change again on a more regular basis than Audi tell you to!
Thom
-
^^ That, as well as-
Check PVC system for splits. Boost pipes for leaks, more so by the DV.
-
thanx guys your awesome, any idea where i would find out what turbo i have, its a 52 plate, thanx again
-
I assume its a K03 but dont quote me on that

I'm going with KO3s, do you know the engine code?
-
I'm gonna guess at the k03 on the SE :undecided:
-
I thought it would be K03 on the A4 (se is still std audi but with little extras) and a tuned up map on the S4 still running the K03 then they ramped everything up for the RS4 and had K04.
-
as said but dont use engine flush, think he just meant drop the oil
also replace the oil pickup pipe, cheap part thats often forgotten.
engine code should be on the rear of the cam cover, 52 i would have thought it would be k03s
the s4 is a 2.7 twin turbo so not the same car, rs4 is a 4.2 v8 twin turbo i think (not sure for that year) the s3 uses 2x k03s, dunno what rs4 uses.
but 52 reg should have k03s and remap to over 200bhp, but there heavy on the fuel, more than a mk4
-
So is this where the K03s comes from to tune up the mk4?
-
cool, thanx again guys, so far its better on fuel than my mk4, im also with you thinking that it should be the ko3s just because of the age, i will have to try and find the engine code to sort it
the oil light is on, but thats the only thing that i can find wrong with it so far, ill be checking that too, any suggestions on what oil to use, thanx again peeps, oh and any recommendations on body kits or styling woluld be cool too

Ko3s is fitted as standard to the later Mk4's (2002-)

fully synth 5-30, as for the oil pressure light change the pickup pipe like i said and change the pressure sensor.
s4 or rs4 kits look good, but just decent wheels and a drop and a4s look good. what colour is it? could go for the all black look if its the right colour

Look at the sticker in the front of your service book, or the sticker in the spare wheel well. In the pic below, Your code will be in the same position in your book/Spare wheel well sticker
