Just bought my 1st mk2. Its black, completely standard (i mean everything is factory original, including that strange placing of the rear wiper  although it does have a toad alarm )The car seems to be in great shape. The body is super straight, just a tiny rust bubble (pea sized) on the passenger door sill. Factory standard rainbow trim (just a bit of seat bolster wear on driver side) Not a stain anywhere else. It has 1 owner from new, full service history from golf specialist (the garage i bought it from). Everything works as it should. Drives incredibly responsively with perfect exhaust colour. The wheels are the BBS GTI ones. I think i paid all the money for it (probably too much) but does it sound a reasonable buy?
I know my way around a car (even though im 22) and am very picky person. It was £2200 which i know is alot for an older car but it did seem worth paying good money for a good car with no work needed (touch wood lol). There were a few things wrong which the dealer said would be repaired (which i got in writting  ) Power steering belt squeeked on full lock, driver door hinge needed fixing and boot gas struts defective ) Spent nearly 2 hours at the dealer lookin it over  Looking forward to gettin your input. Thanks
(Oh yeah, the grin factor of this car over my mk3 8V is incredible, sadly no more air con but hey)

Though you might like some pics. Sorry, its the dealer photos on autotrader but better than nothing. have washes, polished cleaned it since then. Love the original engine bay grime yum. (it could be worse , someone could have painted the air inlet red with celulose  ) The pine fresh dangling thing on the mirror was swiftly tossed out the window thew moment i left his forecort.

Sounds not too bad, got my first mk2 8v 2 months ago. 82000mls genuine, FVWSH original factory trim not a spot on it 3 previous owners paid £1500 runs like clockwork and get somewhere between 350-400 miles on a tank of 98RON fuel. Need to replace brake discs and got a leaky front shock but other than that what a car. Everybody should have to drive one of these cars at least once in their lives !!!!!!!
