It was a carbon grey 3 door just like mine - I thought mine had been nicked for a minute before I looked out of the window to make sure it was still there!!!!

Doh. I happened across the one where they crashed a Focus at 120mph last night, so recorded that one and following one on Dicovery Real Time +1. No doubt the others will be on again and again and again and... sometime soon.

Do we actuall know it's a GTI up for grabs? The competion write up only says 'Win a 2009 Golf.' No mention of it being a GTI. Ad in mags etc are notourious for showing a 'representative picture' so this could be GOlf S for all we know?

Was the competion on the programme and did they say '...this GTI?'

Still gonna enter though

I have been entering these for the last couple of years and never been lucky yet,  but wouldn't it be great to actually win a car,  can you imagine how good it would feel to have a car that owes you nothing ?!

Time to enter again

You all might be interested to know I won a Ford Orion way back in 1992 in a Daily Mail competition. I couldn't beleive how lucky I was! However I sold it very quickly as well as my then current car, a Citroen AXGT, and bought a Peugeot 106 XSI with the proceeds. The Orion was quite a nice car but not the right car at the time for me.
So yes guys, enter those competitions, you never know your luck. I have entered this 5th gear comp for the golf. Could'nt happen twice, could it?

I've just had a go. It has to be worth a punt.

Do you remember a few years ago when they had a competition to win the Oak Green Mk2 GTI? Well...

I was at TSR for a rolling road day a few years ago and that car was parked outside waiting to have some faults fixed. I think it had already been won at the time but hadn't been delivered to the new owner because of the running faults. It had been thrashed around a track for the program and had to be fixed up.

I enter pretty much everyone of their comp's regardless of what car it is,  do use the wifes comapny phone though so its free for me.  They had had everything from Boxsters to 350Z,  I'd be happy with anything thats free,  I do love cars think maybe I have missed my vocation in life
