Title: My Mk2 - coolant help!

Hi guys, I am new to this board and I just got a golf gti mk2  :laugh:

I keep getting a flashing red light on the dash - i think it refers to the coolant temp as it is quite hot while driving around.  I am hoping that someone can help me.  I want to  flush the old coolant out so i can refill with new antifreeze/water but i cant locate it - was gonna go to a mechanic but i thought this place would be a great place to start :D

Any help appreciated cos it is just sitting in my drive  :rolleyes:

mine flashes randomly and has done for 3 years. I ignore it now lol. I know the coolent level is ok under the bonnet.
