Post by: nikkiy9 on 01 December 2011, 18:07

could you please complete THIS (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QTWJQ2Y) questionnaire for him, there's only 4 questions so won't take long

any ideas why your friend thinks you don't need to inform insurers about a car with more power than standard?

Sounds a little cheap.

Manufacturers can tell if they want to.

Insurance must be informed.

insurance can tell as well if they want to.

you'd be amazed at what they'll pay to find out definative proof as well if its suspected

Wonder if they could find someone to read a ME3.8.1 AGU ECU.....

Most insurance companies dont even cover the increase in power from a spec 1 map!  for example...AUM 1.8T 150bhp maps to 225bhp easily!  Thats a 50% power increase.....

225bhp from just a remap is a tad optimistic, 205bhp is more realistic....which is actually a 36% increase

Depends what map you get and what set of rollers surely?

If your only on about a remap, then maybe the lower end of the figures....with supporting mods you might see more!

Yeah true, mine has a carbon map and is mapped to 205bhp dyno'd on their brutally accurate rollers. That's just with Forge 007p and pipercross filter

Isnt it down the the individual person if they declare it or not?

Wonder how many of you have declared your optional extras....

No, it's not choice optional.

You need insurance to drive on the UK highway and if you have undeclared modifications you have no insurance.

Simples

Love to know what mines running at,my mate has 225tt and mine keeps up with his. He's driven mine and think mines faster than his. Going for rtech  spec 2 map jan so will run it 1st. Will have to have 3 runs before, after remap and with water injection on, can't wait.

INjecting water + meth into the inlet to cool things down and allow for more timing.
