Title: Factory Fit Golf Alarm/Immobiliser

Hope everyone is well.....!!

just a quickie, have been looking for insurance quotes for my golf as thinking about getting it chipped and one of the conditions of the new policy would be to have a Thatchcam category one alarm/immobilizer fitted. Can someone please tel me to what Thatchcam standard the factory fitted Golf alarm/immobilizer is as i can't seem to find out anywhere !! My car is mk4 golf git t 150HP (maybe soon to be 200BHP), 1998 S reg.  many thanks for advice folks, drive safe !

Should be a CAT 1 m8. There nothing in the owners manual?? Phone the local stealership and ask them??

i think its a meta but not sure? its all interwired with the ecu

Golfs have a Cat 1. Insurance companies like them as they are fitted as standard. Direct line will give you a good quote, cheaper if you do it on line. :smiley:

thanks all, good news its a cat one, i have temporarily misplaced the manual so can't check in there, have already e-mailed stealership no reply as yet.....many thanks for knowledge !!   :wink:
