I am currently deployed in Afghanistan for the 4th year in a row, I do this because its my job, as part of my job the new government offered to "double our operational allowance".. This is the "bonus" we get for being in this sh!thole. This was painted on the idea that those who don't deploy will have their military benefits tightened up, those on Ops will gain from the new government. They are now looking to change this back down to the original figure.
As well as this they are looking to change our pension and the way it works. I personally believe that if you have served your country, the country should then stick to its word and not try and mug you off.. There is currently a petition to try and stop the change of the Armed Forces pension scheme.. I would like it if you would take two mins of your day to fill out the following:

Lucky you!
I've been waiting on an Medical board for dismissal. I was selected for promotion to PO this month though so I'm now hoping they keep me in! Makes sense for me, as its a 2 year course, then PJT's afterwards. Will end up around 2 and a half years stuck in Fareham but I will only have about 6 years left to do afterwards. Foundation Degree at the end too which is the factor thats swayed me toward it.
