was just browsing my old image shack account and found a few pics of old cars and one stuck out for me, a car i should not have sold. not a vw but it was the best car ive ever owned, cheap, quick and never let me down.

really regret it, was stupid to sell it but i just thought i wanted more power! and bought a vaux calibra, which lasted all of 3 month.
i even bought another 306 a few years later but this one ended up being a true pug and cost me a small fortune
anyone got pics of cars they wish theyd never got rid of?
-
I wouldn't regret selling a french car
-
My astra van, sold it about three years ago and strangely since then they have gone up in value ever so slightly. Was a brilliant car, with a optimum mpg achieved at 90mph

My wrx sti then took me forever to get in to the country and my gen 6 99 red celica gt.... I loved both of them, modern cars just dont do it for me.

I agree... 300bhp (and diesel) :lipsrsealed:
-
Sod diesel, would rather pay more on fuel and have a nice car
-
As in the other thread, my Saab 9-3 1.8 Vector Sport. Loved that car!
And maybe as of today, my Golf.
-
rediculous as it sounds, fiat uno turbo.
at teh time it was the newest car i had ever owned! loved it to bits but couldnt afford the replacement ecu it needed so sold it for £70.
6 months later saw it in the local scrappy
really wish i had that now.
-
mine are a bit mundane - one is my 1st car - a 1979 renault 12 handpainted dark blue, i was gonna pay my dad weekly for it, then someone offered him the cash , second was my champagne beige clubman, which i had in a lock up with no electric, and it needed a little welding, so it went. most recently was my florida blue mk1 polo, genuine 42, 000 miles on it, mint out of its face, i did a few period mods to it, and then i sold it, to a guy who thought it would look ok de rub stripped and colour coded and a few chrome bits on it. he then sold it to a guy who thought he could 1.8t it. now its back up for sale for £1500 with its original 895cc in it.
-
My previous MK1 GTI from my early 20's (10 years ago now!)

-
if i'm honest, my british racing green rover 114 gta, quickest car i've owned, quicker than my saxo vtr, and my current corsa sri 1.4 16v, spent around a month on getting the rover on the road and was also quite rare and also no rust on 65k miles but now some chav owns it and has started playing with it so it is now not standard
-
my very first mk1

how weird you should say that cos my mate also regrets blowing his up, was a real shed, could get in and start it with a house key, but he loved it and spent all his time cleaning round the rust. then he discovered about winding up the boost and the rest is history...
remember the day he went off it cos the wind caught the door when i was getting out and it creased the wing.
-
Ford Escort GTi.
1998 model, had everything in it, electric everything, air con, the lot.
Was a much better drive than my golf, far more switched on car, more responsive, better gear box, was real fun to drive. After selling the Escort, I got the Golf as I always wanted a 1.8T and I was so so so so dissapointed with the MK4, truley dissapionted.
Edit, also miss my MK2 16V, so many memories with that wagon

I should never have sold that really. It was so many sorts of epic that everything else in this thread (especially the white-goods R32s) are firmly in the shade.

I regret scrapping my first mk2 - didnt know anything about mechanics at the time and scrapped it cos of a knackered shock
I regret buying my mk4 :lipsrsealed: (it was a non turbo though so that could be the reason)
Im glad I bought my MG ZR, opened my eyes to handling and dynamics that I hadnt known since my mk2 golfs.

I was disappointed with my escort gti, found it too slow and dull. Can agree with you on it being better than a golf mk4 though.

This is the only car I really regret selling ever !!!!!!!!
Basic 1.6 Ghia shell and interior (absolutely mint throughout) with a 2.1 pinto lump, 5 speed box and full RS running gear. Went like stink but could not hold a head gasket. Would have been worth a mint now as well !!!!!!!
-

dash board change which caused alot of headaches fitting (http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab25/yellowmgzr/DSC00398.jpg)

This little beauty was sold to a guy in Scotland. He paid me £500 to get it delivered to his house. When the truck turned up his wife answered the door and went ballistic as he had not told her he was buying this off me. Turns out a couple of weeks earlier he bought a Mark 2 Harrier without telling her !!!!! Was a great car and I put a set of the RS wheels on it after this picture which looked mint but sold it with these minilites in the back. As I said what would this be worth nowadays ???

this was one i missed "series 1 rs turbo" all suspension was replaced with koni items all new bushes the works, car felt so tight on the road had a quick rack braided brake hoses uprated discs and pads painted and polished engine parts and i had the wheels mirror finished had a 10 speaker ice install that sounded the bussiness, the car had everything but sadly i got into bikes and sold it to fund my first bike i had a fiesta rs turbo at the time aswell in fact 3 cars on my drive a mk 1 stripped out escort with a 1750 burtons engine in rally form went like a bat out of hell, the fiesta rs turbo, and the series one esort rs turbo if i had this car now it would be worth £8,000-£10,000 sad times.
