Very poor photoshop IMO!
-
Obviously. Paint, copy & paste
-
Yeah apparently I started 2, each after the other!
On a serious note, anyone know what is required to turbo my 2.0 8v.
-
an ABF 16V engine first!
-
I certainly haven't started one! I don't even want a turbo!
-

-
I have a mk3 1.9D van whats the easiest way to turbo it, I'm getting bored of 0-60 time of 10 minutes
-
after the 100th or 150th turbo related thread was started I just stopped even looking at them. Theres only so many times the same goddam question can be answered!
-
SORRY IF THIS IS THE WRONG PLACE TO ASK BUT I'M THINKING OF TURBOING MY MK3.
WHAT'S THE BEST ROUTE TO GO DOWN? QUAD TURBO W12, OR THE ELECTRIC TURBO'S OFF EBAY?!!?!?

Don't forget the trusty ole "cutting out" question that was created before Christ.
-
what's the difference between this sh1t set of coilovers and this other sh1t set of coilovers?
will the exhaust from a vr6 fit my 8v?
which air filter will give me 10bhp increase?
-
Yeah if you sign up with a golf3 16v you should automatically be sent a message.
Your hall sensor and coolant sensor are fooked.. and welcome to the forum

Why don't someone make the search function more visible before you start a new thread. Maybe when you click new thread have a search pop up?
I'm board of it. only read 25% of new threads.
-
Its the same on all the sections, except we have josho!

Which makes it better. Although my MK3 is a mere shell at the moment whilst I remove the paint and underseal.

Nope well yes you could but it is just not worth it
-
damn it!! maybe just get one of those fake dump valve things off ebay insted :afro:
-
Buy a Mk2 then.
-
IMO mk3 owners are the tightest ever. Then MK4 closly followed by MK2.

Now, Have you been involved in some form of skullbuggery?
-
Ever tried breaking cars? Who the hell buys second hand spark plugs?

Mk2 owners are in a class of there own who pays over the odds for new old stock WE DO! Sometimes we can't even do that but rather buy secondhand parts than aftermarket ones.
So sort that statement out!
The tightest people are the ones who buy a new MK then can't afford to put petrol into it or sell it after a year!

Majority though. There are some MK3 owes
ners that don't mind spending a few quid. I'd say then it goes MK1 owners then MK5/6. But then they either have a few quid or are leasing the car anyway.
-
it's these vauxhall owners that are causing the problem imo. really dragging the forum down :lipsrsealed:
-
my wheels cost me more than my mk3
I wouldn't say people that own mk3 are tight, it's what they can afford. Most cases house and family come before the car.

This. Although I'm being a bit naughty buying a Corrado right now considering xmas is only a couple of weeks away. :lipsrsealed:

-
Well I'm selling my MK4 and getting a MK3 - I must be super tight!
-
Mark 3 Owners are tight.....what a load of tosh. My Anni was a steal at £500 but I have spent close to £750 on it and have only owned it for around 2 months now. Long may it continue
-
I've broken up a MK4, a MK3 and a MK2. 1.8T went from the MK4 quick but the amount of hagglers trying to knock half the price down mainly came from the MK3.
-
it's nice to see people going from mk4 to mk3. They are the ones that say the mk3 is the worse golf ever made. Well look at you now you peasants
-
The idea that you can judge how much someone is willing to spent by which mk of golf they own sounds pretty retarded to me
I've spent close to 7 grand on my mk3 so does that make up for anything?

OK let me rephrase that, not enthusiasts but the general people.
I suppose yeah, MK3's are cheap decent cars to most and only want to spend little on them.

7K you could have had a nice MK2 for that  :lipsrsealed:

I have tried the Mark 4 and the Bora and although they were nice cars they were not in the same class as the Mark 3. Mark 3 FTW
-
you can get a mk3 gti for £400. why would you want to spend more than that on it lol
-

I chose my mk3 over a mk2 :lipsrsealed:
When I say I've spent 7 grand, it doesnt have 7 grand of mods on it, this is over time and including all the silly things I've done and since removed when I came to my senses  everything I do to it I take note, including small things everything that costs money is noted :nerd:
atm its a nice standard looking lowered 1.8t, currently working on the interior (fitting mk4 recaros today )
-

looks like youve spent a lot more than that on yours looking at your sig pic
-
Surrey is the only place I see MK3's anymore usually with FOR SALE on them
Any Mk2's seem to tear up the roads in Surrey.
TBH if I count the money I've spent.......... I would be divorced :lipsrsealed:
-
£780 is the most ive ever spent buying a car.. that includes 2 mk2, 2 vrs, a mk3 16v... bmw 328 & an alfa
Im the definition of cheapskate

Mines cost me £5750 so far and then I bought a vr6 that just had a engine rebuild costing £2800
-
Mk2 is by far the best mk I dont think I will ever sell mine
-
oh without a doubt! they just lack the mod cons and comfort, but then so do the mk3's which is why you can barely give them away
I'm looking forward to cheap mk5's in the future, the mk4 is boring as hell
-

I don't know when you want to just drive mod cons are just for the family!
-
i think without mod cons makes it better for me as its more of a real drive.. mod cons are for the daily and my daily doesnt have any my ele windows are slow as aresholes
-
So you class ABS as mod cons?
IMO that is essential safety gear in this day and age!
-

yer we only done without it for what 60 years lmao.. i dont need abs its more of a pain than a help thats why they dont use it on track cars
-
I haven't done the calculations, but I would surmise that a Mk2 is quite a safe car in regard to being able to stop. Quite a bit lighter than today's cars, and has decent brakes, even without ABS.
Plus, I Haven't got to go through some stupid menu using a wheel to navigate. I just press a large and easy to reach switch.
-
Bought a little MK2 1.6 runabout today for £200 but I've sold it to a mate straight away for £400.
Didn't like it.
I still think I'd prefer a MK2 over a MK3 but for what it is, a run about i.e not making any changes to it or modifying it, MK3 over the MK2 and even over the MK4 after the electrical issues I had with the laat MK4.
Might get a MK3 1.4 purely on the basis my mum uses it and prefers the MK4.
-
You will grow up to be Ned Flanders.
-
i prefer the 2 over the 3. i think the 3s dont have the same feel to the while driving

that's why you have one of each
not sure I would want a mk2 for a long commute either these days, I must be getting old!
-
this is why I have a kart. racing tkm extreme.
I can't keep driving fast on the roads it's just stupid.
I have to drive on the limit to get a buzz and the karting is the answer
