Need someone who's good at wrapping. Anyone local?
-
You tried it yourself? Good quality wrap is very very easy to work with once you get a bit of heat into it

Honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing. If you said to me that it needs to be applied naked, in the sun, wearing a cap sideways, with a tub of vasoline I'd believe you.

Funnily enough I hear that gives good results!
On a serious note, buy a 99p a4 sheet from eBay & practice. Clean the surface, remove the backing paper & apply. Get a heatgun or hair dryer and heat up the vinyl, it'll become pliable & stretchy so you can shape it over whatever it is your wrapping.
If it's not right, reheat it & it will return to normal so you can try again as many times as necessary. You'd have to be a complete retard to get it wrong!

Cool, I'll give it a go. If it can go wrong though, it will.
How hard is it to apply it to handles? As they're curved...

i havent done handles, but i have done my mk4 keys and some of the interior stuff aswell as the gti badge for my mk4, not too hard, just take your time and get it as hot as you can (with out setting it on fire :D )

Right'o I'll have to give it a go. Knowing me I'll go OTT an wrap my house or something.

Does it not shrink when cooling?

it can, but your supposed to heat it up to its setting temp which is something like 80 deg i belive and that stops it shrinking

Oh nice one, may have to get some and start sprucing up the interior of the audi, not to rs standard but a few trick bits. Do you have to declair internal modifications to insurance?

tbh you proberbly should, but lots of people i know have vinyl wraped parts or sticker bombed parts and non of them have declared it. unless you do the whole dash i doubt insurance would be that dicky over it

Mate applying vinyl to small items is a piece of p!ss. It only really becomes tricky when doing large area like bonnets and roofs.
