Title: Swopping a 2lt 8v to a 1.8 16v................?

Hi all,
new to this place, but anyway as some of you would of read Sassyminx is wanting to swop her engine, and i happen to have a old Golf with a 1.8 16v in with everthing still on the car.
so what i want to know whats involed?
i do alot of vauxhall coverstions but never done a VW but can not be that hard.

take all the old engine box loom ecu out
Lift in the new 1.8 16v bolt into place replace the engine wiring and ECU
change shafts hubs etc
Job done?

would you be beardy who is on CorsaSport per chance??

its a messy job, especially if its the old spec 16v (hazard on dash rather than steering column) with the earlier wiring
